Overview

1950
Anadolu Group was founded in 1950 by Kamil Yazıcı and İzzet Özilhan.
When the founders of the Anadolu Group, İzzet Özilhan and Kamil Yazıcı met, it was 1949. While İzzet Özilhan owned a small grocery store in Istanbul Tarlabaşı, Kamil Yazıcı had come to Istanbul for his military service. They met by coincidence, and this led to a partnership in a short time. Anadolu Group was formed by Kamil Yazıcı and İzzet Özilhan in 1950.
1960
Çelik Motor, the first company of the Anadolu Group was founded.
Çelik Motor, which was founded as the first company of the Anadolu Group, began its activities by selling Jawa motorcycles, Puch scooters, and Skoda vans.
1965
Anadolu Motor began producing industrial type engines.
Under the name of Çelik Montaj, Anadolu Motor began its first production of Jawa motorcycles and Skoda vans in 1965. In 1970, it added the production of industrial type engines with the license for both the Jawa motorcycle engine (250 cc) and Lombardini.
1969
Anadolu Efes was formed.
The first beer factories of Anadolu Efes - Erciyas Biracılık (Istanbul) and Ege Biracılık (Izmir), presented the first brand of Anadolu Efes – Efes Pilsen – to the market.
1969
ADEL, the leading organisation in the pen industry in Turkey, was formed.
The quality achieved by ADEL, which was formed in 1969, with its pens, resulted in it entering into partnership with Faber-Castell, one of the leading pen producers in the world.
1976
Anadolu Efes Spor Kulübü was formed.
Anadolu Efes Spor Kulübü was formed with the taking over of Kadıköy Spor. The Anadolu Efes Spor Kulübü soon became one of the milestones of Turkish Basketball, with its fundamental aims being the advancement of Turkish sport, representing our country with success in Europe, and making basketball loved by all youngsters.
1979
Anadolu Foundation was established.
Anadolu Vakfı was established. Anadolu Vakfı established the Anadolu Health Center with a bed capacity of 201 and a 22-bed bone marrow transplant unit, in partnership with Johns Hopkins Medicine International, one of the most important health organisations in America. As well as providing scholarships to more than 20 thousand students, the Foundation has had more than 50 educational institutions, halls of residence, sports centres, hospitals and health centres built.
1984
Anadolu Isuzu began producing trucks and coaches.
Anadolu Isuzu began the production of Isuzu vehicles in its factory in Istanbul Kartal in 1984. The most important objective of Anadolu Isuzu, which moved to its new facilities in Gebze Şekerpınar on 2 July 1999, and has been carrying on production at its new plant since August 1999, has been its approach to service which brings customer satisfaction to the fore – from the day it was established.
1985
The Turkish distribution rights for Lada private cars were acquired.
The Lada brand, which became part of Çelik Motor in 1985, was the “most sold imported brand of car” for 5 years in a row, from 1989.
1986
Turkey’s first canned beer was produced.
The first canned beer in Turkey was produced at Ege Biracılık in Izmir, one of the factories of Anadolu Efes.
1993
Company of Efes Invest was founded.
Company of Efes Invest was formed for the production and distribution of Coca-Cola in Southern Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
1996
Anadolu Group began operating in the finance sector.
After ABank, which had been established in 1992, was purchased by the Anadolu Group in 1996, it achieved a continually increasing graphic of success due to the strong support of the group, its dynamic and customer focused service approach, professional human resources, and the quality of the technology it used and the services it provided.
1996
Anadolu Efes Spor Kulübü became the ‘’first Turkish team to win a European Cup”.
Anadolu Efes Spor Kulübü, which has caused basketball to be loved by the masses, has a special place in the history of Turkish basketball with the successes it has achieved – especially the Korac Cup it won.
1997
The first overseas beer investment began with the factory in Moscow.
The Netherlands based Efes Breweries International (EBI), which carries out the overseas operations of the Beverages Group of the Anadolu Group, realised its first investment in Russia, the 5th largest beer market in the world.
2000
Kırlangıç and Sezai Ömer Madra oil brands were purchased.
Olive oil, the indispensable ingredient of the Mediterranean cuisine, has gained a brand new identity with Ana Gıda, an affiliate of the Anadolu Group. As well as olive oil, Ana Gıda also produces corn and sunflower oils.
2000
Anadolu Isuzu presents Turkuaz to the market.
While the founder of thevc31-seater class of the sector, Turkuaz, was able to achieve the comfort and safety levels expected of the large coaches within the sector, it also promises the agility, economy and manoeuvrability which can be achieved by a minibus.
2001
Distribution rights agreement entered into with KIA.
The second big leap made by Çelik Motor was with the distribution rights agreements it entered into with the Asian automotive giant KIA in 2001. Çelik Motor combined its sales and marketing endeavours of more than 40 years with KIA, and started a big change.
2003
Anadolu Efes purchased a factory in Kishinev and enters the Moldavian market.
Anadolu Efes, which entered the Moldavian market by purchasing a factory in Kishinev, has become the largest beer producer in the country within a short period.
2004
Anadolu Bilişim Hizmetleri A.Ş. is formed.
Anadolu Bilişim Hizmetleri A.Ş. operates in the information technology sector, and provides ERP applications from among data centre services and manageable services, and project management, consultancy and external resource use services in numerous areas, from the improvement of processes to their optimisation.
2005
Çelik Motor Fleet Rental is formed by Çelik Motor A.Ş., one of the deep rooted organisations of the Anadolu Group.
Çelik Motor Fleet Rental, which was established by Çelik Motor A.Ş., one of the most well established companies of the Anadolu Group, has been providing services as one of the youngest and most innovative members of the sector, since 2005. In order to be able to provide a better quality of service to its customers, Çelik Motor Fleet Rental today continues to operate continuously with a range of vehicles comprising all makes and models demanded within the market, and numbers close to 15.000.
2005
Anadolu Health Center opens.
Anadolu Health Center, which has been established with the aim of providing health services at world standards, in order to increase the quality of life, is passing on the requirements of modern medicine to patients with a new and extensive approach to health. The continued cooperation with John Hopkins Medicine International, which makes an important contribution to service quality, also supports the vision of Anadolu Health Center to be a point of reference in healthcare.
2005
Coca-Cola İçecek takes over 99.86% of the shares in the Azerbaijan Coca-Cola Bottlers (ACCB) company.
ACCB, which performs the production, sales and distribution of the sparkling and still beverages consisting of the brands of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) in Azerbaijan, offers more than 8o flavour and package selections to customers. Coca-Cola İçecek has acquired a 99.86% shareholding in ACCB.
2005
Cola-Cola İçecek takes on the management of the Jordanian operation.
In 2005, Coca-Cola İçecek purchased 90% of the shares of The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Jordan, and taken over the management of the Jordan operation.

Coca Cola İçecek takes over 99.72% of the shares in the Coca-Cola Almaty Bottlers (CCAB) company.
Coca-Cola Almaty Bottlers LLP (CCAB) performs the production, sales and distribution of the sparkling and still beverages consisting of the brands of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) in Kazakhstan. Coca-Cola İçecek has acquired a 99.72% shareholding in CCAB.
2005
The licensing rights for McDonald’s Turkey acquired.
McDonald’s the global “fast-food restaurant” giant, which entered Turkey in 1986, joined the Anadolu Group in 2005. McDonald’s did not only bring the approach of “fast service” to Turkey, but at the same time also ensured that the food sector became acquainted with numerous innovations and quality standards.
2006
CC For Beverage Industry Limited (CCBIL) formed.
CC For Beverage Industry Limited (CCBIL) was formed, and it performs the production, sales and distribution of the sparkling and still beverages consisting of the brands of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) in Iraq. Coca-Cola İçecek has indirectly acquired 100% of the shareholding in CCBIL.
2006
CCİ purchases the natural spring water producer Mahmudiye Ltd.
CCI has purchased the natural spring water producer Mahmudiye Ltd.. The public offering of CCI has been made, and the shares of CCI have started to be traded in the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

Coca-Cola İçecek takes over 50% of the shares in the Syrian Soft Drink Sales and Distribution (SSDSD) company.
Syrian Soft Drink Sales and Distribution (SSDSD), performs the production, sales and distribution of the carbonated and still drinks consisting of the brands of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) in Syria. Coca-Cola İçecek has acquired a 50% shareholding in SSDSD.
2007
Anadolu Araçlar Tic. A.Ş., an affiliate of the Anadolu Group of companies is established.
Anadolu Araçlar Tic. A.Ş. has been established. Anadolu Araçlar Tic. A.Ş. performs the marketing, sales and after sales activities of Geely, the largest private sector car brand in China, Cooper Tires, the leading tyre brand in America, and the Avon, Starfire and Mentor brand tyres, which are affiliated to this brand.

Coca-Cola İçecek takes over the management of the Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Ltd. (CCBPL) Pakistan operation.
Coca-Cola İçecek has purchased 49% of the shares of CCBPL, and taken over the management of the Pakistan operation.

Anadolu Etap fruit and fruit juice company is formed.
The Anadolu Etap fruit and fruit juice company is formed. As well as having one of the largest fruit juice concentrate production capacities in the country, it is also the owner of the largest estates assigned to fruit growing in Turkey, with its farms established on 24.000 decares of land, as of today.

Coca-Cola İçecek takes over 59.50% of the shares of the Turkmenistan Coca-Cola Bottlers (TCCB) company.

Anadolu Gayrimenkul Yatırımları A.Ş. is formed.
Anadolu Gayrimenkul Yatırımları A.Ş. develops projects which will add value on a wide geographical area, with the strategic business partnerships it is to enter into, without being limited to the real estate within the portfolio of the Anadolu Group. It aims to be one of the most important actors in the fields of “Real Estate Development, Investment and Management”.

A sales and distribution company under the name of Coca-Cola Beverages Tadzhikistan LLC is formed.
Coca-Cola Beverages Tadzhikistan LLC performs the production, sales and distribution of the sparkling and still beverages consisting of the brands of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) in Tadzhikistan. Activities are currently continuing by exporting Coca-Cola products via CCBB (Kyrgyzstan) and CAB (Kazakhstan).

McD Café, the coffee chain of McDonald’s comes to Turkey.
The coffee chain McCafé, which operates with more than 1300 restaurants in 32 countries in the world, has come to Turkey under the name of McD Café, in order to ensure that McDonald’s customers spend pleasurable time in their restaurants, and to introduce them to real and quality coffee. As well as many hot and cold selections from Espresso to Cappuccino, from Flat White to Americano, from Latte to Turkish coffee, and from Frappe to Smoothie, McD Cafés also offer extremely tasty foods which appeal to the palate, such as cakes, biscuits and muffins.

Anadolu Efes and SABMiller signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
Within the framework of the strategic cooperation agreement signed with SABMiller, the second largest beer producer in the world, Anadolu Efes has taken over three SABMiller factories in Russia, and one in the Ukraine.

Commercial Bank of Qatar, purchased the majority shares of ABank.
The Commercial Bank of Qatar, with an asset size close to 24 billion USD, has purchased 70.8 percent of ABank.

Anadolu Etap purchased Penkon, one of the important companies of the fruit juice market.
Anadolu Etap has purchased Penkon, one of the important companies in the fruit juice market. Together with this transaction, the total investment amount of the company has exceeded 220 million dollars since its formation.
2014
Aslancık Dam and Hydroelectricity Power Plant brings electricity generation with its first unit.
The Aslancık Dam Reservoir and Hydroelectricity Power Plant, which is the first investment of the Anadolu Group in the energy sector, has been undertaken in partnership with the Doğan and Doğuş Groups. The installed capacity of the power plant, which is situated on the Harşit streamlet of the province of Giresun, is 120 MW, and it possesses an estimated 400 kWh electricity generation capacity per annum. The Aslancık Reservoir and HES, where construction work began in 2010, began generating electricity from its first unit in March 2014.

The foundations were laid for AND, the first project of Anadolu Gayrimenkul.
The A+ office project “AND” will rise in the area in Kozyatağı, which served the company as Headquarters for a long period, aims to be one of the most prestigious office projects on the Anatolian side. New office projects to be undertaken under the “AND” brand will carry the signature of the Anadolu Group with pride, as well as being respectful to people, nature and the city.
